UMC is proud to announce that in addition to approving the construction of our 52,000-square-foot expansion project, the Monticello City Council has also approved a $300,000 forgivable grant from the Minnesota Investment Fund. The grant will be used to purchase machinery and equipment for the new facility.

The expansion will be built adjacent to our existing facility and connected by a two-story breezeway, creating a campus setting. UMC’s target start date for construction is April 25.

“We are excited about this opportunity to grow and bring more innovative solutions and ideas to life for our customers,” said UMC CEO Don Tomann. “This expansion is the next phase of our vision to build the precision manufacturing factory of the future.”

The expansion is expected to generate 60 new jobs within the first three years of the expansion and generate a new tax base through the construction of the 52,000 square foot facility.
