Internships
Each summer, students, representing engineering programs from across the Midwest, spend twelve weeks gaining a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing at UMC by working in numerous areas and participating in various manufacturing and engineering assignments under the guidance of experienced engineers.

Apprenticeships
UMC apprenticeships allow individuals who are either going into or just finishing their first year at a two-year technical school to follow a robust work plan to learn different aspects of the job.

Pre-Apprenticeship & Youth Apprenticeships
UMC’s pre-apprenticeship programs include a STEM Career Exploration Program, Job Shadow program, and Youth Apprenticeship program. The 16 and 17-year-old high school students involved in these programs are exposed to each area of the shop to become familiar with the different manufacturing services UMC offers.
