COVID-19 Prevention & Preparation
The information surrounding COVID-19 is changing day to day, but our commitment to serving our customers won’t.
During these unprecedented times, UMC has been deemed an essential business and will remain open during the COVID-19 pandemic. We play a critical role in manufacturing devices for healthcare, medical equipment and supplies, as well as the aerospace and defense industries. These sectors have been designated as critical infrastructure, the continued operation of which is vital for national public health and safety.
Our customers’ products are found in hospitals around the world and are pivotal to support the emergency rooms and intensive care units, thus having essential impact to prepare for and manage the pandemic crisis. Additionally, without the goods and services provided by UMC, the timely availability of resources to meet national defense and emergency preparedness requirements are at risk.
In all cases, the health and safety of our employees remains our top priority. We have aggressively instituted numerous precautionary health and safety measures for our workforce including travel restrictions, self quarantine procedures, employee social distancing, remote and flexible work schedules where possible, and continuous and comprehensive deep cleaning and disinfecting of our manufacturing facilities and offices.
Stay safe. We are all in this together and UMC is here to help. For more COVID-19 information including how to protect yourself and what to do if you are feeling ill, visit the CDC.
