UMC strives to create opportunities for students to learn, explore, and grow. From Wright Tech CEO that teaches entrepreneurship and prepares youth to be responsible, enterprising individuals, to local robotics programs that teach kids how to apply science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)- our contributions help build experiences for students that build their future. Through UMC’s donations to tech schools students gain access to new technologies, while scholarship funds take some of the financial stress off of students and allow them to focus on their studies. Better opportunities for students means a brighter future for us all.
What we give is important, but the passion and spirit behind our contributions means even more. This year UMC employees joined together to gather food during the food drive, donated toys and time to Toys for Tots, planted trees during Arbor Day, and donated blood. UMC also matched gifts that employees made to the causes and organizations that meant the most to them. When we look back over the past year, we can be proud of the impact we’ve made together.
Now in our 51st year of business, we are humbled to be a storied part of business history. We pride ourselves on providing stability and loyalty, creating trust, and building a pipeline of prosperity- not just for UMC as a business, but as a partner to the wider world.
Where We Give
Technical and Trade School In-Kind Donations
We believe in showing up. It’s an honor to be present in the schools that mold the brightest, most inquisitive minds in our community. We’re proud to share and donate our technology and time to train future employees and leaders. Investment today is payoff tomorrow- not just for the students, but for all. After all, we are all affected by the success of our neighbors. A considerable bonus? Donating our machines and materials is much easier on the Earth.
Employee Matching Funds
Our employees are more than machinists- or any job title at UMC. We know our emplyees bring their rich experiences and love of community through the doors every day. We love being able to provide a cash boost to help them meaningfully pay it forward. Together, we can make the world a better place.
UMC Scholarships
We’re proud to support a family’s future: Children and grandchildren of employees are eligible for scholarship money to pursue their dreams, no matter the major. To date, we’ve given more than $18,000 to enrich student educations.
Technical Trade School Cash Donations
Sometimes what a school program needs is the cash that helps them purchase the goods and services their students need most. Because of our deep and lasting connections to local trade and tech schools, we know their knowledge and judgement is second to none. We’re so grateful that we’re able to help support our local schools.
Local Nonprofits
We’re inspired every day by all the people and organizations working hard to make our community the best it can be. Being able to support these organizations is a privilege we’ll never take for granted. We’re in awe of the ripple effect of good these people and missions do for our community and, by extension, the world. We commit to lending a helping hand wherever we can.
