Manager of Engineering Services

Job Summary

The manager of engineering services oversees the engineering team with the following functions: quoting, production/quality process development, troubleshooting jobs in production and creating/editing drawings.  This effort is to ensure profitable and timely production of parts meeting the designated standards related to customer expectations and governing bodies.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Manager of Engineering Services consist of but are not limited to:

  • Coach and support employee performance by providing timely feedback and conducting performance reviews
  • Establish departmental goals and objectives to attain the business objectives set by the Director of Technical Operations
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the engineering activities and resources to support company goals, objectives and profitability of operations
  • Work cross functionally to ensure efficient production with a profitable outcome
  • Maximize the efficiency of production schedules through production process creation and troubleshooting to ensure effective use of both human and capital resources utilization
  • Participate actively in standardization of processes, cost reduction, and continuous improvement in collaboration with other functional teams
  • Maintain employee safety and morale by creating a safe and efficient working environment
  • Must be able to meet customer demand requirements for performing visual inspection and/or other product acceptance activities with or without accommodation
  • Exhibit a working knowledge of health and safety, responsible for safety awareness, while upholding and improving the culture of safety within the organization. Identify opportunities for improvement and take action if appropriate, before a problem occurs. Report potential hazards, unsafe working conditions, unsafe equipment, unsafe acts, and injuries immediately
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirements – High School diploma or equivalent
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or related field preferred
  • 10+ years supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Progressive experience in precision manufacturing environment with equipment, materials, processes and systems
