IT Infrastructure Network Engineer

UMC is looking for an IT Infrastructure Network Engineer who will be responsible for the planning, development, administration, integration, efficient use, and lifecycle maintenance of UMC’s IT Infrastructure. This includes the analysis, evaluation, support, and enhancement of existing infrastructure as well as the design and implementation of new infrastructure systems and services.

A variety of these skills and qualifications will help land you this job:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong communication, relationship, and problem-solving skills
  • A minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in IT Infrastructure Client, Server, or Network Systems Engineering
  • Experience with Cisco Fire power firewalls, ICE, PIC, and Firepower Management Console (FMC)
  • Experience with Aruba switches, access points, and Aruba central
  • Experience with network monitoring, security, Office 365, and Azure
  • Experience with PowerShell to automate routine tasks
  • Experience with database management, SQL queries, and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

On top of that you must have:

  • Broad technical knowledge of the use, administration, integration, and implementation of IT infrastructure client and server systems, networks, and security
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft client and server operating systems, Office 365, Azure, directory services, virtualization technologies, collaboration technologies, database systems, PowerShell scripting
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure concepts and best practices in areas such as networking (firewalls, switches, wireless), systems monitoring & configuration, client deployment, software distribution, security, availability, and backups & continuity
  • Dedicated customer service attitude
  • Ability to drive results, take initiative and be action-oriented by applying time management and self-management skills every day in order to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Be able to drive engagement, be passionate about excellence and drive a passion for quality in all that the team produces

In this position you’ll:

  • Design, implement, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure including client, server, network (wired, wireless, and cloud), security, and phone systems
  • Develop and maintain client, server, and network hardware, software, and configuration standards
  • Ensure the ongoing availability and security of UMC’s infrastructure systems and services
  • Monitor and analyze infrastructure system performance and propose & evaluate improvements
  • Perform necessary user, group, license, and security administration for infrastructure systems and services
  • Act as the point of contact for outside support providers and telecommunications carriers to coordinate support and other services
  • Perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks, as requested
